2009 wildlife photo contest taking entries

cardinalWildlife charity, the Nature Conservancy, is now accepting entries for its 4th annual digital photo contest.

The competition is for any original, nature themed digital images, including landscape images, plants, animals, people in nature, and marine wildlife or coral reefs. To enter the contest, all photographers need to do is upload their image to the Nature Conservancy Flickr group by September 30, 2009, and tag them with PhotoContest-TNC09.

The winner's image will be printed in the 2011 Nature Conservancy calendar - reaching nearly two million households worldwide, and the Best Nature Photo winner's image will be featured on The Nature Conservancy's website, nature.org, which is visited by more than three million people annually.

The 2008 winning photo (pictured), of a female cardinal touching down at a birdbath, was taken by Texan, Howard Cheek.
