London's top eco-friendly attractions, ranging from high-end tailored scrap clothing to Britain's first hydrogen-powered building, are the focus of a new guided tour run by Insider London.
The Cutting Edge Green Tour, which was launched earlier this year by tour guide and Coolhunter, Cate Trotter, is a three hour journey around some of London's greenest highlights.
Stops on the tour, which takes place every weekend, include London’s first five star green hotel, the Rootmaster vegan restaurant, and the floating gardens on Downing Road.
"The tour has been praised for being a great new way to explore the city." Says Cate. "It is a one-stop shop to the best in sustainable living. Jaded Londoners love getting a fresh view of their hometown, while foreign visitors find the tours are a great way to orient themselves in the city beyond the West End. We travel overground, showing them everything from the East End to the South Bank."
The tours cost around $25, with up to eight spaces available on each tour, in order to foster discussion and keep it 'insider'. This intimate approach has already helped it win a 'Love London' award earlier this year.
As well as visiting some of London's lesser known green attractions, such as the Junky Styling fashion store, which transforms second hand clothing into tailored garments, the latest eco-friendly fashions and gadgets are also demonstrated while on board the tour bus, and an sneak peak is given on the future of green architecture in London.
In addition to the green tour Insider London will also soon be launching interior design, architecture and 'quirky London' tours.
